Especially a Pitts, but youre suppose to fly all airplanes tie down to tie down. Asleep on the rudder and very little aileron input can kill your sleepy ass.

That was not a ground loop. And believe me… I know what a ground loop is. I have the unfortunate honor of having posted the best example of a ground loop in my Tiger Cub. They use it for «what not to do» training.

The circle at the end with smoke on is similar to what a NASCAR driver does after a win. Nothing worse than weekend warrior, armchair critics. Go back to your online flight experience. I’m sure you can land a 747 on an aircraft carrier.

@nz3rdsqr Yes, the Pitts is a challenging airplane to handle on landing, and the ground, (and on approach, and in the pattern) but it handles crosswinds exceptionally well. I’ve landed the Pitts in stronger direct crosswinds than I’d be comfortable landing just about any other light aircraft. It has such authoritative controls, and does just what you tell it to, that as long as you know what to tell it, the landing in a crosswind isn’t really any more difficult than any other Pitts Landing.

the pits is known to be one of the hardest aircraft to land even in good conditions and the fact that he prevents the ground loop means he has some skills.

There was no groundloop…..duh
No GL there….just a burn out!
Not a ground loop.

Lies!!! Not a ground loop, you don’t plan for it, it just happens and you pray to god the airplane isn’t damaged when you stop.

It’s not a friggin ground loop , she was taxiing back to the ramp and just swung it around to spread the smoke around a little .

Log that as four touchngoes.

The precision altitude control on that last maneuver was amazing! 😉

Not a ground loop. Looks like the landing was going to be one, but the circle on the ground is not a ground loop.
Here is a ground loop. T-6 Landing Mishap (check update vid: ‘T-6 Landing Mishap – Explanation!’)

That was part of the show, not a ground loop. Geeze, all you arm chair pilots get your pilots certificate and go fly.

Not cocky at all. It’s the answer of experience.

That’s not a ground loop…a ground loop is something else entirely, and it’s not the sort of thing you’d do on purpose.

@SerginhoD There was gusty crosswind at that moment… pilot did pretty well taking into acount the conditions…
